In an effort to streamline meeting set up and eliminate last-minute issues with technology, please email a copy of the guest's presentation to Randy Van Rooyen prior to the meeting. Randy will load the presentation on his laptop so the guest speaker doesn't have to worry about technology the day of the meeting. Guests can bring their own laptop if they insist but we prefer to have the presentations in advance. Thank you.
Thursday, June 1. All lobster sales must be submitted by this date as we need time to special order our fresh lobster.
Where do I get tickets? How much?
From Rotary East members or at Wine Guyz. $45 per person.
What does the meal include?
1 1/4 lb fresh lobster, cole slaw, corn on the cob, dinner roll, butter, and bottled water.
Can people attend without purchasing a lobster ticket?
Yes. The event is free and open to the public. Since this is a lobster boil, we wanted to sell lobsters so this wasn't heavily publicized yet. The advertising will adjust after June 1 to encourage those who didn't buy a lobster ticket to still come down to enjoy a burger, beer, and great music to support a great cause.
What if I don't like lobster?
Alternative food options will be available for purchase including hamburgers and a vegetarian option.
How do I volunteer?
A volunteer sign-up sheet will be circulated at the Monday, May 22 Rotary meeting and via email. Many opportunities are available on Thursday and Friday, June 15 and 16. Bring your spouse, family members, or friends to help, too! Didn't see a sign-in sheet? Contact Spencer or Natalie for details!
This is a fundraiser. What will the money be used for?
Proceeds will benefit improvements at Chad Erickson Memorial Park.
Attention New Members (or anyone who wants to learn more about Rotary!)
Thursday, July 13
7 - 8 am
Radisson Hotel, La Crosse
With the beginning of the new Rotary year right around the corner, this is a great time to check out STAR. New Rotarians meet over breakfast six times per year to learn more about various Rotary topics. The June program will focus on "What is Rotary?" and will walk you through service opportunities, member responsibility, Rotary.org and lots of other cool stuff.
We meet for breakfast only six times during the year and you may receive a make-up for attending these sessions. We intend to provide programs on the Five Avenues of Service, The Rotary Foundation and the Rotary Works Foundation, along with other aspects of Rotary. Each of you is expected to attend the next six meetings following your orientation. All new Rotarians are considered a member of STAR for their first year.
We meet on the second Thursday of the following months: January, March, May, July, September and November. The meeting is at 7:00 a.m. at the Radisson Hotel 200 Harborview Plaza, La Crosse. A complimentary breakfast will be served.

Lobsterfest had a booth at theRiverside Family Fun Fair. Unfortunately the rainy day kept numbers low, but we had a sweet booth! Plus, we got some coverage on News 19. Also, AJ Frels, Executive Director of Explore La Crosse, told us to watch next week's paper for coverage about new festivals in the area. Lobsterfest will be highlighted!
Then there was the test boil... Wayne and Sandi did a fabulous job with the lobster! And our friend Paul Roekle made the trip across the state from Manitowoc to share tips. The Manitowoc/Two Rivers clubs held a lobster boil for ten year and are sharing equipment and knowledge with us to help us get off the ground.
